Loose Watercolor Seascape With Boats

About this seascape painting demo

This loose watercolor seascape painting with boats is inspired from a photo reference. Of course many details were eliminated and others were added to make the scene my own.

Colors were toned down a bit but still on the chromatic side for my style of art. I payed up the orange hues to contrast against the green water.

As with all my work I try to use three layers to complete a painting. The first layer is some local colors, the second is where most of the work is done. Third layer is mostly darkest darks and some highlights.
